Drow Ranger vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Trying to kite Lifestealer often comes down to his use of Rage. With it active, he can ignore Frost Arrows and Gust to close the distance on Drow Ranger, which disables her Marksmanship ultimate and cripples her damage. This puts Drow in a terrible spot, unable to fight back effectively. However, the interaction isn't one-sided. A well-timed Gust before Lifestealer activates Rage can stop his advance entirely. Items like Hurricane Pike also give Drow an answer for creating space even against a magic-immune target. The fight often depends on who baits out the other's key ability first.

The game becomes a question of which team can better enable its carry. A Lifestealer with an Infest-ganking partner or a strong initiator can guarantee he gets his jump on Drow. Once Rage ends, though, he's very susceptible to being kited and focused down. A Drow Ranger with a solid frontline and supports who can save her can usually survive the initial assault. She can then turn the fight around once Lifestealer's magic immunity wears off. Success for either hero is heavily reliant on vision control, positioning, and team coordination.
