Drow Ranger vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Thinking that Muerta’s ultimate makes her a natural counter to Drow Ranger is a common trap. While Pierce the Veil does make her immune to Drow’s physical attacks, the fight is often decided by a different spell. A well-timed Gust can silence Muerta before she can transform, leaving her vulnerable and unable to use her best tool. The entire duel hinges on this timing. If Muerta activates her ultimate, Drow Ranger has to run or die. If Drow lands her silence first, Muerta is usually the one who gets bursted down by physical damage.

This dynamic forces both heroes to play cautiously around each other. Drow has to position well and hold onto her silence, waiting for Muerta to commit. Muerta, on the other hand, needs to find an opening to use her ultimate without being instantly disabled, either by waiting for Gust to be used on someone else or by getting her own BKB. Later in the game, a Nullifier on Drow can also completely remove Pierce the Veil, adding another layer to the interaction. The fight really could go either way, depending on who lands their key spell first.
