Controlling the map against each other feels awkward for both sides. Phantom Assassin wants to farm safely for her core items, using Stifling Dagger to harass and secure creeps. Drow Ranger can't really bully her out, but can shove lanes much faster with Multishot, forcing rotations. The entire matchup hinges on a single, critical interaction: Drow's Marksmanship provides immense damage, but it deactivates the moment an enemy gets close. Phantom Assassin’s entire goal is to do exactly that with Phantom Strike, instantly turning Drow into a much weaker target. This fundamental conflict makes their direct encounters very volatile.

Drow Ranger relies on Gust to create distance, but a well-timed Black King Bar from Phantom Assassin completely ignores the silence and knockback.
