Drow Ranger vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Getting pulled by a Meat Hook is a serious problem for Drow Ranger. She has no innate escape, so being dragged out of position is often lethal, especially if Pudge follows up with Dismember. Her whole game plan depends on staying at a safe distance and attacking from the back line. Pudge's initiation directly threatens that plan by physically moving her somewhere she doesn't want to be. This forces her to play much more cautiously than she'd like, particularly when Pudge is missing from the map.

The matchup becomes a game of vision and positioning. A good Drow player will stay behind her teammates, forcing Pudge to find a creative angle or land a very difficult hook. Building a Force Staff or Hurricane Pike is also a common way for Drow to create space. If Pudge misses his hook and tries to walk up, Drow Ranger can kite him with Frost Arrows and her superior range, or even silence him with Gust to prevent him from using his spells. The pressure is on Pudge to land his key ability to create an advantage.
