Drow Ranger vs Pugna

How this matchup plays

Facing a long-range Drow Ranger can be awkward for Pugna. His kit revolves around casting spells to control a fight, especially the channeled Life Drain. Drow Ranger's Gust provides an instant, long-range silence that reliably interrupts that channel, often leaving Pugna exposed and unable to defend himself. Pugna’s main anti-carry tool, Decrepify, is also a mixed bag here. While it can save an ally from Drow’s physical attacks, Drow can often switch targets with little trouble. Nether Ward is also less punishing for a core who deals most of her damage with attacks rather than expensive spells.

This dynamic means Drow Ranger generally has an easier time contributing from the back line. She can position safely, and if Pugna ever shows himself to use Life Drain, a quick Gust can shut him down. Pugna’s success often depends on good coordination. He can enable magic-heavy allies to burst Drow by Decrepifying her, or use it to save a key teammate from her focus fire. The matchup isn't one-sided, but Drow's ability to control distance and interrupt key spells from afar gives her a consistent, if small, advantage.
