Earthshaker vs Oracle

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a specific kind of standoff. Earthshaker wants to find a multi-hero Echo Slam and lock down a whole team, but Oracle's False Promise can completely negate the burst damage on a core target, turning the initiation into a waste. Fortune's End can also purge the stun from a long-range Fissure, saving a teammate from a gank. However, False Promise only protects one hero. Earthshaker can win fights by simply jumping a different target or by using Fissure to block Oracle from reaching the hero who needs saving.

This dynamic forces a constant mind game. Oracle has to position defensively, always trying to guess who Earthshaker will target with his Blink Dagger. Meanwhile, the Earthshaker player is looking for that one opening where he can catch multiple heroes outside of Oracle’s effective range or simply blow up the Oracle first. The fight often comes down to who acts first and who anticipates better. A perfectly timed save can ruin the slam, but a well-placed Fissure can make the save impossible, leaving the outcome of any engagement uncertain.
