Ember Spirit vs Lich

How this matchup plays

Using Sleight of Fist on a group of heroes can be a liability for Ember Spirit when facing Lich. The spell groups Ember with his targets, creating a perfect setup for Chain Frost to bounce and deal massive damage. A well-timed Sinister Gaze can also lock Ember down before he can Remnant away, leaving him completely exposed to Lich's ultimate or follow-up from the team. This single spell interaction forces the Ember player to be much more careful about how they choose to engage.

Across the game, Ember Spirit will try to use his mobility to split the map and find pickoffs, avoiding the five-on-five fights where Lich excels. The threat of Lich's control means Ember can't jump in as freely as he'd like. He has to rely on Flame Guard to absorb some magic damage and be ready to escape with Fire Remnant instantly. If Ember can dodge the initial setup or play around Chain Frost's cooldown, he can still be effective, but Lich's presence consistently limits his options in teamfights.
