Ember Spirit vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Dodging Phantom Assassin's attacks with Sleight of Fist is the core of this matchup for Ember Spirit. His Flame Guard offers no protection against the pure physical damage from her Stifling Dagger or critical strikes, so he can't afford to stand and fight. While Phantom Assassin's Blur provides evasion, Ember can still apply damage from a safe distance using his abilities and on-hit items. She, in turn, must use Phantom Strike to close the gap instantly, looking to burst him down before he can use a Fire Remnant to escape.

The laning phase can be difficult for Ember Spirit if he has to face constant dagger spam. Later on, fights between them are about initiation and reaction. A successful jump from Phantom Assassin often secures a kill if Ember is caught without a Remnant ready. Conversely, a patient Ember can wear her down with Sleight of Fist, forcing her to retreat or making her an easy target for his team.
