Ember Spirit vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Closing the distance is the entire puzzle for Ember Spirit in this matchup. He has the tools, using Fire Remnant to initiate and Sleight of Fist to dodge incoming damage, but a good Sniper knows this is coming. Sniper's job is to use his extreme attack range and the vision from Shrapnel to keep Ember Spirit from ever getting a clean jump. Because both heroes have a clear way to execute their plan, it comes down to a test of positioning and timing from the players themselves, which can go either way.

The dynamic shifts throughout the game. Sniper often has the advantage in the early laning phase, using his range to harass Ember Spirit. Once Ember gets his ultimate, he can start actively hunting a vulnerable Sniper across the map. This forces Sniper to play reactively, grouping with his team and waiting for Ember to commit.
