How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by a Phantom Assassin is a constant threat for a fragile hero like Enigma. She excels at closing the distance with Phantom Strike and bursting a single target down, and Enigma is often the ideal victim. Even if he starts channeling Black Hole, if PA isn't caught in the initial pull, she can often finish him off before the spell completes. Her defensive blur also makes her a difficult target for Eidolons to wear down with attacks. This gives her a small but consistent window to disrupt Enigma's entire game plan.

The dynamic shifts throughout the match. Early on, Enigma can make laning difficult for Phantom Assassin, using Eidolons to deny creeps and control the lane, slowing her item progression. As PA gets her core items, however, she becomes the primary aggressor. Enigma is forced to play from the shadows, relying on good positioning and vision to land a Black Hole that preferably catches PA herself. The fight often comes down to whether PA can find and kill Enigma before he finds the perfect ultimate, creating a tense cat-and-mouse game in the mid and late-game teamfights.
