Enigma vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Farming a field of Plague Wards gives Enigma a steady source of income. The summoned Eidolons can easily destroy the wards, turning Venomancer’s primary tool for vision and area denial into a liability. It’s tough for Venomancer to retaliate effectively, as his damage-over-time spells don't clear the multiplying Eidolons efficiently. This often forces him to give up ground and lane control, allowing Enigma to build an early lead by farming both the lane and any nearby jungle camps with his summons.

With that early farm, Enigma can hit his key timings for items that enable Black Hole. Venomancer's best bet is to play more defensively, using his wards to scout for rotations and waiting for his team to group up. The dynamic shifts in larger teamfights. While Black Hole is a huge threat, a well-timed Poison Nova from Venomancer can ensure his team wins the fight even if he dies first. This threat of massive post-death damage keeps the pressure on Enigma to execute his initiation perfectly, preventing the matchup from becoming too one-sided.
