Faceless Void vs Phantom Lancer

How this matchup plays

Catching the right hero in a Chronosphere is key for Faceless Void, but Phantom Lancer makes that difficult. His ability to create illusions and reposition with Doppelganger means a rushed ultimate can easily trap fakes, wasting the long cooldown. Even if Void manages to catch the real Phantom Lancer, his attacks will spawn more illusions inside the sphere. Without significant area damage, Void can struggle to burn through the main hero before Chronosphere ends, leaving him vulnerable to the swarm.

This matchup pressures Faceless Void into buying items that clear illusions, which can delay his core damage or survivability.
