Nature's Prophet vs Io

How this matchup plays

Picking Nature's Prophet for his global pressure runs into a huge problem against Io. The entire strategy of split-pushing with Teleportation is undone by Relocate. Any time Nature's Prophet shows up alone to push a tower, Io can bring a core hero directly on top of him for a quick kill. Sprout offers little protection, as the tethered ally can often cut the trees or has the mobility to close the gap anyway. Io fundamentally punishes the exact game plan Nature's Prophet relies on to be effective, turning his greatest strength into a massive liability.

This forces the Nature's Prophet to play in a way that feels completely unnatural for the hero, staying close to his team and avoiding the sidelanes. He has to wait for Relocate to be used before creating any meaningful pressure, which gives Io's team complete control of the map's tempo. Instead of reacting to pushes from Nature's Prophet, the Io team can confidently force objectives or fights knowing he is either absent or will arrive into a bad situation. It's a case of two heroes wanting to play the map, but Io’s reactive, plus-one style of control directly dismantles NP's solo-pressure approach.
