Gyrocopter vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Facing a Phantom Assassin is a nightmare for Gyrocopter because her Blur provides evasion against every single Flak Cannon shot. Gyro's whole plan is to melt the enemy team with area damage, but PA can often stand in the middle of it and take very little physical punishment. This fundamentally neuters his teamfight impact. Since Gyrocopter has a short attack range and needs to get relatively close, Phantom Assassin can easily jump him with Phantom Strike. A single critical strike from Coup de Grace is usually enough to delete Gyro before he can react, making him a prime target all game.

This dynamic forces Gyrocopter onto the back foot from the mid-game onward. He has to detour for a Monkey King Bar just to be able to hit her, delaying his own core damage or survival items. Even with an MKB, he remains a fragile target that Phantom Assassin wants to find and burst instantly. Gyro's team is forced to play defensively around him, whereas PA's team can play much more aggressively, knowing their carry has a natural advantage. Gyro wants to fight front-to-back, but PA's ability to bypass the frontline and execute him makes that plan fall apart.
