Gyrocopter vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a hit on Sniper is the core problem for Gyrocopter. Sniper's Take Aim lets him attack from a distance where Gyrocopter can't fight back, making any lane trade impossible. To use his most damaging spell, Rocket Barrage, Gyrocopter needs to get right on top of a target, but Shrapnel creates a massive slow field that prevents him from ever closing that gap. He ends up taking constant free damage without any way to retaliate, and his Homing Missile is easily destroyed from a safe distance.

This forces Gyrocopter’s entire game plan to revolve around finding a way to jump on Sniper, often requiring a Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade. This delays his core damage items and makes his approach predictable. Sniper, on the other hand, gets to build normally and play from the safety of his backline. Unless Gyrocopter’s team can provide the perfect setup for him to get in, he has to expose himself completely to reach his target, and he is too fragile to survive running through an entire enemy team.
