Gyrocopter vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst down Spectre with all of Gyrocopter's area damage is a common mistake. All that splash from Flak Cannon hits Spectre and her Haunt illusions, but she reflects a portion of it back with Dispersion. Gyrocopter has to get close to do his thing, so he and his nearby teammates end up taking massive reflected damage. Essentially, Gyrocopter's main teamfight contribution ends up killing himself faster than it kills Spectre. She's built to outlast this kind of fight, turning his own strength against him.

Once Spectre has Haunt, she dictates the engagement. She can jump on Gyrocopter at any time, instantly isolating him from his team. Gyrocopter is too fragile to survive that initial assault, and he lacks a reliable escape to get away from a Spectral Dagger slow or a persistent illusion. Gyrocopter's only real plan is to group up and end the game before Spectre comes online, but her ability to farm safely and join fights from anywhere makes that incredibly difficult to execute.
