Gyrocopter vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Pushing out lanes with Flak Cannon is how Gyrocopter builds his lead, but it makes him a predictable and easy target for Windranger. Her entire kit is designed to punish a hero caught out of position. A good Shackleshot locks him down long enough for Focus Fire to kill him before he can react. If Gyrocopter somehow survives the initial burst and tries to turn the fight, Windranger can use Windrun to become immune to his physical attacks, effectively ending his contribution while she finishes the job or simply walks away.

This dynamic makes the mid-game incredibly difficult for Gyrocopter. He constantly feels pressured, unable to farm safely and falling further behind. Windranger can leverage this threat to control the map, picking Gyro off before objectives. Gyrocopter's only real hope is to group with his team much earlier than he would like and rush a Black King Bar to survive the initial lockdown. Windranger, in turn, will focus on ambushing him during his rotations, aiming to cripple her primary target before a teamfight can even start.
