Hoodwink vs Medusa

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a farming Medusa is one of Hoodwink's main goals. A well-placed Bushwhack can create a window, particularly if allies can help burn through the Mana Shield. The issue is that Hoodwink's damage alone often isn't enough to secure the kill before the stun wears off. Medusa can also use Stone Gaze defensively when caught, forcing Hoodwink to abandon the attempt or risk getting turned to stone. Mystic Snake is also a constant threat, draining the mana Hoodwink needs for her spells and escapes.

This leaves the matchup in a state of push-and-pull. Hoodwink is good at setting up ganks and controlling Medusa’s position, trying to slow her farm. Medusa, on the other hand, often has enough durability to survive these attempts and continue building toward her late-game power. The contest is less about one hero directly countering the other and more about which team better enables their hero’s strategy. It comes down to whether Hoodwink's team can capitalize on early control before Medusa becomes too strong to stop.
