Hoodwink vs Phantom Lancer

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a Bushwhack on Phantom Lancer is a losing battle. His Doppelganger allows him to dodge the stun reliably, and the sheer volume of illusions makes it impossible to guarantee you're targeting the real hero. Hoodwink's main contribution is catching a key target for a Sharpshooter follow-up, but PL's kit makes that combo completely unreliable. The illusions also absorb Acorn Shot bounces and block skillshots, effectively making the real Phantom Lancer immune to her single-target control.

In the early lane, Hoodwink might have a decent time harassing him before he can spawn many illusions. But once he has a few items, the game changes completely. Phantom Lancer can run directly at Hoodwink without fear, and she's forced to use Scurry defensively to create space. She can’t provide the burst or lockdown needed to kill him, and she lacks the area-of-effect damage to handle his army. Hoodwink is left feeling useless, unable to contribute to fights where PL is the primary threat.
