How this matchup plays

Lining up a Sharpshooter from the trees feels a lot less certain when Io is on the other team. The channel gives plenty of time for a defensive Relocate, completely negating Hoodwink's gank attempt. The constant healing from Tether can also blunt the burst damage from Acorn Shot, giving Io's partner the moment they need to turn the fight. On the other hand, a successful Bushwhack that catches both Io and its ally is often a death sentence, as it prevents any escape and sets up an easy kill. The matchup comes down to these small windows of opportunity.

Throughout the game, this dynamic creates a tense back-and-forth. Hoodwink will try to play from the edges of vision, looking for a quick pick-off on Io before a fight even begins. This is her best path to victory, as it removes the save potential from the board entirely. The Io player must be careful with positioning, using their own vision to stay safe while keeping their carry topped off. If Hoodwink missteps and gets caught, her low health pool means she will be deleted quickly by whichever hero Io is tethered to.
