Trying to burst a Witch Doctor from the trees seems like Hoodwink's ideal scenario, but it often backfires. The main issue is Paralyzing Cask. It's a simple, reliable stun that can interrupt Hoodwink’s Sharpshooter channel from a safe distance, completely wasting her ultimate. If Hoodwink tries to use Scurry to reposition or escape through a creep wave, the cask will bounce and lock her down anyway. Maledict is also a huge problem; once it lands, her Scurry evasion doesn't matter much, as any follow-up damage becomes lethal.

This dynamic means Hoodwink has to play for solo pickoffs where she can land her full combo before Witch Doctor can react. As the game transitions into five-on-five teamfights, her job gets much harder. She needs specific tree positioning for a good Bushwhack, while Witch Doctor can contribute his powerful spells like Maledict and Death Ward from the backline with far less setup. He thrives in the chaos that makes it difficult for Hoodwink to find a clean shot, giving his team a consistent edge in those crucial engagements.
