Huskar vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Jumping on a Pudge can feel like an easy kill for Huskar, but it’s often a trap. Huskar’s entire plan revolves around fighting at low health to maximize his magic resistance and attack speed. The problem is that Pudge’s Meat Hook deals pure damage, completely ignoring that passive resistance and threatening to finish Huskar off. Even if the hook isn't lethal, a successful Dismember provides a long lockdown that Huskar can't fight through. It gives Pudge's teammates all the time they need to pile on and kill the otherwise slippery target.

In the early game, Huskar can often dominate the lane by sidestepping hooks and running Pudge down. The game changes once teams start grouping up. A diving Huskar becomes a predictable target, and Pudge's job is to land that crucial hook or dismember to stop the aggression cold. Huskar is forced to play more cautiously or build specifically to survive the lockdown, which can slow down his snowball potential. Pudge doesn't necessarily win the one-on-one fight outright, but his kit provides the perfect answer to Huskar's predictable dives.
