Invoker vs Snapfire

How this matchup plays

Landing a combo on Snapfire can be tricky. Her Firesnap Cookie is a versatile tool that can either help her leap away from a Cataclysm or turn and stun Invoker to interrupt his spellcasting. Her own burst damage with Scatterblast is also a real threat early on, forcing Invoker to play cautiously. On the other hand, Invoker has plenty of ways to shut her down. A well-timed Tornado can stop her Cookie play entirely, and Cold Snap is often enough to cancel the channel on her Mortimer Kisses ultimate from a safe distance, completely wasting her biggest teamfight contribution.

The outcome of this matchup often hinges on which hero gets the jump on the other. A Snapfire who can coordinate ganks can ruin Invoker's game before he gets his key levels. But if Invoker survives the initial aggression, he has the control to catch and eliminate Snapfire with spells like Deafening Blast or Ice Wall. Later on, it's a battle of positioning; Snapfire wants to force Invoker out of the fight with her ultimate, while Invoker is constantly looking for an angle to land his disables on her before she can act.
