Invoker vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Trying to jump on Invoker with Snowball is a real test of reactions. Invoker has an answer for almost everything Tusk wants to do, but it requires him to have the right spells ready. A well-timed Tornado can stop the Snowball before it connects, and a preemptive Ice Wall can make it impossible for Tusk to chase. Even if he does get on top of you, Deafening Blast can knock him back and disarm his Walrus Punch, neutralizing his burst potential. It's a constant back-and-forth of initiation versus control.

This makes the laning phase and mid-game ganks very volatile. A successful rotation from Tusk can spell death for a mid Invoker, but if Invoker has good vision and quick fingers, he can often punish the attempt. Later in the game, the dynamic shifts to itemization. Tusk will prioritize a Black King Bar to guarantee his initiation, while Invoker will often buy items to help him survive that initial jump. Fights between them are decided by which player better executes their plan and forces the other to react on their terms.
