Jakiro vs Phantom Lancer

How this matchup plays

Thinking about a Phantom Lancer game makes picking Jakiro a tough sell. Jakiro relies on landing slow, telegraphed spells, and Phantom Lancer’s kit is designed to exploit that. A well-timed Doppelganger lets him dodge Ice Path completely, turning a potential kill into his own escape or counter-attack. While Jakiro’s spells like Macropyre are meant to control a large area with damage over time, PL can easily reposition himself and his illusions to fight outside the fire, or simply create new illusions faster than Jakiro can burn them down.

This dynamic gets worse for Jakiro as the game progresses. In teamfights, he becomes a primary target. Phantom Lancer can use Phantom Rush to close the distance, and once he's on top of Jakiro, the illusions quickly burn through the support's mana and health. With no mobility spells, Jakiro can’t escape the swarm. His main contribution is landing a perfect setup, but finding the real PL in the chaos is difficult, and a single misstep often means Jakiro dies before he can get his full spell rotation off.
