How this matchup plays

Dealing with Jakiro's spells becomes much more manageable when Io is on the other team. An ally caught in Macropyre or stunned by Ice Path can often be saved by a quick Tether, which provides enough movement speed to pull them out of danger. Io’s Overcharge also provides a buffer against the sustained damage from Liquid Fire and Dual Breath, frequently giving a core hero the extra moment they need to survive and turn a gank around. Jakiro relies on locking down an area and burning enemies down over time, and Io’s ability to reposition and sustain a single key target can disrupt that plan.

This interaction allows Io’s team to play with a bit more confidence across the map, knowing a save is often available. Jakiro is pressured to land a perfect multi-hero Ice Path or to focus Io down before he can react. In response, Io's team can use Relocate to create pressure elsewhere, forcing Jakiro's team to split up and react rather than setting up for the slow, five-on-five teamfight that Jakiro prefers. The game often becomes about whether Jakiro can catch a hero far from Io, or if Io can successfully dictate a faster pace that Jakiro struggles to keep up with.
