Juggernaut vs Lich

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can shut down Juggernaut's aggression with slows is a common trap. While Lich's Frost Shield and Frost Blast are normally great for kiting, Blade Fury cleanses those effects and provides magic immunity, allowing Juggernaut to run straight at him. On the other hand, a well-timed Frost Shield on an Omnislash target significantly softens the spell's damage and slows Juggernaut's follow-up attacks. Lich’s Sinister Gaze can also be a powerful lockdown, but only if Juggernaut has already used his spin. The entire dynamic is a constant trade of key cooldowns.

This back-and-forth defines the matchup at all stages. In lane, Lich can make trades difficult, but Juggernaut is always a threat to kill him with a single spin. In teamfights, Lich focuses on protecting his team and using Chain Frost to punish a grouped-up spin attempt. Juggernaut, in turn, has to wait for the right moment. He needs to either catch someone before Frost Shield is applied or wait for Lich to overextend and then punish him. The fight often comes down to which player forces the other's hand first.
