Juggernaut vs Shadow Shaman

How this matchup plays

Picking these two heroes often comes down to which team gets the lockdown. Juggernaut relies on Blade Fury for spell immunity, but Shadow Shaman has multiple ways to hold him in place. An instant Hex can catch Juggernaut before he can react, and Shackles provides a long follow-up disable. While Blade Fury is the perfect escape, its cooldown is long. If Shadow Shaman and his team can bait out the spin or simply wait for it to end, Juggernaut becomes an easy target. This makes their dynamic a constant cat-and-mouse game centered on one ability.

During the lane, Juggernaut is often forced to use Blade Fury defensively to break Shackles, wasting his primary kill threat. Later, he has to be extremely careful when farming, as a gank led by Shadow Shaman can leave him dead before he can even press a button. The Juggernaut player's goal is to survive until he gets items that let him start fights on his own terms, like a Blink Dagger or Abyssal Blade. This lets him turn the tables and burst the fragile Shaman before any spells can be cast.
