Juggernaut vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to close the gap is the entire story of this matchup. Juggernaut has Blade Fury to run through slows and Omnislash to guarantee a kill on a fragile, isolated hero. If Juggernaut can get on top of Sniper, the fight is almost always over before anyone can react. However, Sniper is built to prevent exactly that. His massive attack range, the vision and slow from Shrapnel, and the knockback from a common Hurricane Pike pickup create a huge safety buffer. Juggernaut often has to find a perfect, unseen angle to have any chance of connecting.

The game becomes a tense positioning duel. Sniper can make the laning phase difficult with constant right-clicks, but Juggernaut can sustain with his Healing Ward. Later on, Juggernaut looks for openings with Blink Dagger or from the fog of war to instantly delete Sniper. In response, Sniper has to play far behind his own team, forcing Juggernaut to overcommit into a bad spot to get the kill. Success often comes down to which team better enables their carry: the one who sets up the perfect assassination, or the one who builds the better fortress.
