Juggernaut vs Troll Warlord

How this matchup plays

Fighting into Troll Warlord feels like a duel of ultimates. Juggernaut wants to use Omnislash to burst a single hero down, but Troll is uniquely equipped to survive it. Popping Battle Trance in response lets Troll Warlord lifesteal through much of the incoming damage, and if he uses his melee Whirling Axes, the miss chance can cause many of the Omnislash slashes to fail entirely. Once Omnislash is over, Juggernaut is often left vulnerable to a fully ramped-up Troll. On the other hand, Juggernaut’s Blade Fury provides a reliable escape, allowing him to simply spin and teleport away from a fight he isn't winning.

The matchup often comes down to which carry can force the other to use their key spells defensively. A well-timed initiation can decide the fight before it starts. If Juggernaut can catch Troll Warlord without Battle Trance, he usually wins. If Troll can bait out Blade Fury, he can chase Juggernaut down. Because both heroes want to hit the same timings and build similar items, neither tends to pull ahead easily. The lane is often a farm-fest, and the winner is usually the player who executes their combo better or gets the jump in the mid-game.
