Lich vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Pushing into Sniper's vision can feel impossible, as he whittles your team down from a safe distance. Lich provides some decent tools to break that stalemate. While a good Chain Frost bounce is unlikely against a well-positioned Sniper, Lich's other abilities are tailor-made for catching him. The instant slow from Frost Blast makes it easier for an initiator to connect, and a surprise Sinister Gaze from fog or after a Blink Dagger can pull Sniper right into the middle of your team. This constant threat makes it much riskier for him to show on the map or sit on a tower.

The matchup becomes a game of vision and positioning. Lich and his team want to smoke up and find that perfect angle of attack to burst the Sniper before he can react. The Sniper player, in turn, has to play with extreme respect, staying far back and relying on his team's wards and saves to survive any potential jump. If Lich can't find a way to get on top of him, Sniper will eventually poke his team down from long range. If Lich's team successfully executes a gank, they can take an objective. It really can go either way.
