Lich vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a classic standoff. Lich's Frost Shield is an obvious and effective tool for mitigating Zeus’s constant magical harassment, letting a key ally survive burst damage that would otherwise force them out of a fight. Zeus, however, isn't trying to win a duel. He stays far back, spamming spells that wear down the entire enemy team. While Frost Shield can protect one person, Zeus can simply switch his focus or rely on Thundergod's Wrath to damage everyone on the map regardless of individual buffs. Neither hero truly invalidates what the other wants to do.

This tension defines the game. Fights often come down to whether Lich's team can close the distance and initiate on Zeus before his poke becomes overwhelming. A well-placed Chain Frost can punish a clustered team, but Zeus excels at staying on the edge of the fight, far from his allies. Success depends less on the direct interaction between Lich and Zeus and more on which team better enables their hero’s strategy. If Zeus gets jumped and deleted, his team loses its primary damage source. If he's allowed to cast freely from the backline, Lich’s defenses will eventually crumble.
