Lifestealer vs Shadow Shaman

How this matchup plays

Trying to run at a key target, Lifestealer often finds his plan foiled by Shadow Shaman’s chain disables. Hex and Shackles are exactly the kind of lockdown that can get a melee carry killed before he can react. However, a well-timed Rage completely nullifies this threat, purging the spells and letting Lifestealer close the gap. The whole interaction becomes a game of chicken over who uses their spell first. If Shadow Shaman can bait out Rage, his team can kite and re-engage once it’s over. If Lifestealer waits for the disable, he gets a free kill window on an otherwise fragile hero.

This standoff continues into teamfights, but Shadow Shaman’s Mass Serpent Wards can tip the scales. The wards deal physical damage, which goes right through Rage, and their positioning can easily trap Lifestealer. Even if he pops his magic immunity to avoid Hex, he might have to spend precious seconds of its duration hitting wards instead of enemy heroes. This delay gives Shaman's team time to reposition or simply wait for Rage to expire, leaving Lifestealer vulnerable to being locked down again. It's a slight edge, but often enough to make the difference.
