Lifestealer vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Choosing an initiator like Tusk to go up against Lifestealer can be tricky. Tusk’s whole game plan revolves around locking a target down with Snowball and Walrus PUNCH for his team to follow up. The problem is that Lifestealer’s Rage provides spell immunity, making him completely immune to Tusk's stuns and slows. This forces Tusk to either find a different target or wait for the spell immunity to end, by which time Lifestealer may have already won the fight. While Tusk can try to block a Raging Lifestealer with Ice Shards, he has no direct way to stop him from running at the back lines.

This dynamic shapes how fights play out from the mid-game onward. A smart Tusk player will try to bait out Rage before committing his stuns, or he’ll ignore Lifestealer entirely and focus on bursting down a support. However, this allows Lifestealer to play very aggressively, knowing Tusk can't control him. He can activate Rage and run straight at Tusk or his allies, forcing Tusk to use his spells defensively or risk getting run over. The matchup isn't unwinnable for Tusk, but it puts the burden on him to perfectly navigate Lifestealer's most important cooldown.
