Lina vs Monkey King

How this matchup plays

Playing from the trees as Monkey King feels incredibly risky against Lina. Her spells have enough range to break your perches, forcing you to the ground where she has the advantage. Trying to channel Primal Spring for an engage gives her a clear window to land Light Strike Array and begin her combo. The worst part is using Wukong's Command; standing still to get your ultimate off makes you a perfect, non-moving target for her Laguna Blade. Your own signature abilities become the setup for your death.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Monkey King to play much more cautiously. He can't rely on his usual tree-based initiations because Lina can so easily punish them. She can control the spacing of a fight, staying far enough back that he can't get on top of her without being stunned and burst down. Monkey King has to hope for a perfect flank or for Lina to be caught without her spells, whereas she has a consistent and reliable way to handle him in most standard teamfight scenarios.
