Lina vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Picking Lina into a Spectre feels like a liability from the draft screen. Lina wants to blow up one hero instantly with her spell combo, but Spectre's Dispersion turns that plan into a suicide mission. All the damage from Light Strike Array and Laguna Blade gets reflected, meaning a full combo on a farmed Spectre will often kill Lina before it kills the target. It's a fundamental mismatch; the more damage Lina builds to try and solve the problem, the more she hurts herself, turning her primary strength into a huge liability.

After the laning stage, Spectre can use Haunt to jump on a solo Lina anywhere on the map, and Lina is too fragile to survive without help. This forces her to play defensively and group up, slowing her farm and preventing her from split-pushing. In teamfights, Lina has a terrible choice: either ignore the enemy carry completely, or risk dying to her own spells if she unloads on Spectre. Spectre, on the other hand, has a simple goal. She waits for the fight to start, Haunts to the back line, and deletes Lina with ease.
