Lina vs Witch Doctor

How this matchup plays

Getting hit by Maledict feels awful as Lina. She's a fragile hero who relies on executing a fast spell combo to delete a target, but Maledict makes any return damage potentially lethal. Even a small amount of poke becomes a serious problem. Witch Doctor's Paralyzing Cask is also a huge issue, as a single bounce can interrupt Lina's Light Strike Array or Laguna Blade, completely shutting down her burst attempt. She wants to be a reliable executioner, but Witch Doctor makes that job very difficult.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. In lane, Witch Doctor can trade effectively and set up kills on an immobile Lina. Later, she has a hard time finding solo pickoffs because a well-positioned Witch Doctor can turn her gank against her. Teamfights are even worse; Lina becomes a primary target for Death Ward and has no good way to stop it if her stun is on cooldown or misses. To have an impact, Lina has to play perfectly and hope the Witch Doctor makes a mistake, giving him a consistent edge.
