How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down Luna with Lion's stuns can be a real coin flip. On one hand, Lion has the perfect kit to delete a single fragile core. A successful Hex into Finger of Death combo will usually kill Luna outright before she can react, especially if she's caught out of position. On the other hand, Luna's entire game plan involves farming fast to get items that counter this kind of single-target control. If she gets her Black King Bar up, Lion can’t touch her for its duration, making his most important spells useless against her.

This matchup often comes down to timing and vision. Before Luna gets her core defensive items, Lion is a massive threat; a smoke gank or a well-placed ward can lead to an easy kill that slows her farm. But as the game goes on, the tables turn. A farmed Luna with BKB or Manta Style can often ignore Lion entirely in a teamfight, running him down while he has no way to control her. The game becomes about whether Lion's team can snowball off early pickoffs, or if Luna can survive long enough to come online and make his lockdown irrelevant.
