Lion vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to stay alive as Windranger gets uncomfortable when a Lion is on the other team. Her main defensive ability, Windrun, provides evasion from physical attacks, but it does absolutely nothing to stop Lion's magical lockdown. An instant Hex can pin her in place, making her an easy target for his team or a quick Finger of Death, which she is often too fragile to survive. Even his Mana Drain is a persistent problem, as it can leave Windranger without the resources needed to cast her own escape or damage spells, effectively neutralizing her before a fight even starts.

This advantage for Lion is noticeable but not overwhelming. Windranger can still use Powershot from a safe distance to chip away at him or his team. In larger teamfights, Lion may be forced to use his disables on a more immediate threat, giving Windranger a window to use Focus Fire on a key target. The matchup often comes down to positioning and who gets the jump first. If Windranger secures an early Black King Bar, she can often ignore Lion entirely, turning the dynamic on its head and making him the vulnerable one.
