Lion vs Winter Wyvern

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target with Lion's chain of stuns often leads to a saved enemy and a wasted combo. Winter Wyvern can simply cast Cold Embrace on the Hexed target, making them immune to the physical right-clicks that usually follow Lion's initiation. While Finger of Death will still connect, the follow-up is denied, and the target is healed. Similarly, a well-timed Winter's Curse can turn Lion's entire team against the very ally they were trying to help, completely disrupting the gank attempt and punishing the commitment.

This interaction becomes a game of chicken. Lion has to decide if he can burst Wyvern herself before she can cast her saves, or if he can bait out her spells on a less important target. Winter Wyvern, on the other hand, must maintain careful positioning to avoid being the initial target of Lion's lockdown. The matchup often hinges on which support gets the jump on the other. If Lion finds Wyvern first, her defensive spells are useless, but if she's ready for his aggression, she can consistently shut down his main contribution to a fight.
