Lion vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Catching Zeus is the whole game for Lion. Both heroes are fragile and can blow each other up quickly, but their preferred ranges are completely different. Zeus wants to sit far back, chipping away with Arc Lightning and his Static Field passive, which he can do to Lion all day. Lion, on the other hand, needs to get on top of Zeus to land Hex and Finger of Death. This turns the matchup into a simple question of who gets the first shot. If Lion can close the distance, Zeus is a free kill. If Zeus can keep Lion at arm's length, he'll eventually wear him down.

The dynamic really pivots around Lion's Blink Dagger timing. Before that item, Zeus often has an easier time, controlling space and poking from a safe distance. Once Lion can initiate from out of vision, the threat level flips. Zeus is forced to play much more cautiously, aware that a stun and Finger of Death could come from anywhere. The rest of the game becomes about positioning and vision control. A smart Zeus will use his team as a shield, while a good Lion will work to find the angle to bypass them and eliminate the biggest magical threat.
