Luna vs Magnus

How this matchup plays

Landing a big Reverse Polarity is the goal for Magnus, but Luna presents a tricky target. Luna's illusions from Manta Style can make it difficult to identify the real hero for a Skewer or blink-initiation. Even if Magnus catches the right one, Luna's game plan includes building a Black King Bar, which completely negates his ultimate. If he uses his spell and fails to catch her, she’s free to activate Eclipse on the enemies he has conveniently grouped together, often turning the fight on its head.

Across the game, the pressure is on Magnus to find a perfect initiation before Luna becomes too difficult to kill. Luna, meanwhile, can focus on her own farm and timings. She uses Moon Glaives and illusions to accelerate her item progression and apply pressure to the map, forcing Magnus to react. While a well-executed ultimate from Magnus can certainly win a fight, Luna has multiple ways to play around it. This makes her game plan more reliable and less dependent on landing one crucial spell, giving her a consistent, if slight, advantage.
