Luna vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Dropping an Eclipse on Morphling is often a free kill. His entire game plan revolves around shifting into high Agility to deal damage, which leaves him with a tiny health pool. This makes him the perfect target for Luna's heavy magic burst. He simply can't shift back to Strength fast enough to survive the multiple, rapid strikes from her ultimate. Even outside of her ult, a well-timed Lucent Beam can set up a kill on him at almost any stage of the game, since he's always operating on a knife's edge with his health.

This dynamic shapes the whole match. Luna generally farms faster thanks to Moon Glaives, letting her hit key timings and group up to push towers. This forces Morphling into a defensive posture where he is most vulnerable. He wants to split the map and find solo pickoffs, but Luna’s team can run at his towers and force a confrontation. If Morphling shows up to defend, he risks getting caught by Eclipse and dying instantly, which often loses his team the fight and an objective right after.
