Luna vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Fighting a well-positioned Sniper is about closing the distance, which is a problem for Luna. Her own attack range is standard, and her Moon Glaives won't bounce far enough to threaten a Sniper who is playing correctly from the back line. This forces Luna to rely on finding an initiation or running directly at him. While Luna’s Eclipse can be a major threat, Sniper can often stand outside of its effective range, especially during sieges or scattered fights. He can use Shrapnel to slow her approach and kite her while chipping away at her health from a safe distance, making it difficult for her to commit.

The matchup often comes down to itemization and team coordination. Luna’s game plan revolves around farming a Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade to get on top of Sniper before he can react. If she can successfully jump him, her high physical damage output will usually win the duel. On the other hand, a Sniper with good vision and protective teammates can make that initiation almost impossible. He’ll happily sit behind his team, whittling down Luna and her allies. It becomes a positioning duel where either hero can take over the game if they execute their plan better.
