Luna vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Thinking a carry's main output is shut down by Windrun is a common trap. While the evasion from Windrun does help Windranger dodge attacks, Luna has other ways to apply pressure. Her ultimate, Eclipse, deals magic damage that isn't affected by evasion at all. Luna's Moon Glaives also present a problem; even if the initial attack on Windranger misses, the glaives will still bounce to nearby allies or creeps, chipping away at the whole team. This forces Windranger to position perfectly, far from any other units, which is often not possible.

The matchup often comes down to timings and teamfight positioning. A Windranger who gets ahead can try to pick Luna off before she has defensive items. Luna, on the other hand, wants to force five-on-five fights where she can stand behind her frontline. In these scenarios, Windranger struggles to find a clean angle for Shackleshot or a safe target for Focus Fire without getting hit by bouncing glaives herself. Because Luna’s plan to group up and push naturally disrupts Windranger's pickoff style, she usually ends up having a slightly easier time executing her game plan.
