Magnus vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Lining up a kill on Phantom Assassin seems straightforward for Magnus, but she is notoriously difficult to pin down. While his stuns and slows are potent, her Phantom Strike allows her to change targets instantly, and a well-timed Blur active can make her disappear from the map entirely. This forces Magnus to guess where she'll be for a Skewer or Reverse Polarity. She doesn't need to break his spells if she can simply avoid being the primary target, turning his powerful setup into a high-risk play.

This tension defines their late-game encounters. The entire fight can swing based on whether Magnus successfully initiates on Phantom Assassin. If he lands a Blink Dagger into Reverse Polarity, she is almost certainly dead. If he misses or is baited into using it on a lesser target, PA gets a free window to jump his backline and hunt down his more vulnerable teammates. The outcome often comes down to which player can better anticipate the other's positioning and key cooldowns.
