How this matchup plays

Picking Magnus into a Sniper often feels like a gamble because the matchup hinges on a single moment. Magnus has the ideal tools to punish a stationary, long-range carry; a Blink Dagger into Reverse Polarity is usually a death sentence for Sniper. However, Sniper's whole game is about staying out of reach. He naturally positions far behind his team, and good warding can make it nearly impossible for Magnus to find a clean opening. Even a long Skewer requires Magnus to get close first, which is the core challenge here.

This dynamic creates a tense standoff around objectives. The Magnus player will constantly hunt for an angle, often with a smoke, to get on top of Sniper before a fight can properly start.
