Magnus vs Troll Warlord

How this matchup plays

Landing a big Reverse Polarity on the enemy team can feel risky when Troll Warlord is on the field. If he isn't the primary target or survives the initial burst damage during the stun, the fight immediately turns. Once free, Troll can activate Battle Trance and become a nightmare for Magnus's team. He can't be slowed and will lifesteal through immense damage while locked on a target. Magnus commits his biggest spell to start the fight, but has few tools left to deal with a berserker who is suddenly immune to kiting.

The matchup often comes down to a test of execution. The Magnus team needs perfect coordination to kill Troll Warlord inside the stun window, a task that becomes harder as the game goes on and Troll gets more durable. A single defensive support item on Troll's team can be enough to ensure he survives the initial lockdown. Afterwards, Magnus himself is a prime target for a rampaging Troll. Skewering him away is only a temporary solution, leaving Magnus without an escape and often putting him in an even worse position.
