Magnus vs Winter Wyvern

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a hero caught in Reverse Polarity is tough when Winter Wyvern is on the other team. Her Cold Embrace can completely negate the physical damage follow-up on whoever Magnus catches, buying crucial time for a counter-initiation or escape. This forces the Magnus team to either find overwhelming magical burst or to switch targets entirely. On top of that, a well-placed Winter's Curse punishes the way teams naturally clump together to hit an RP target, potentially turning Magnus's big setup into a disaster for his own cores.

This interaction defines the mid and late game. The Magnus player has to constantly account for Wyvern's position, sometimes trying to bait out her defensive spells before committing Reverse Polarity, or even blinking on Wyvern herself. In response, Winter Wyvern has to play from the shadows, staying far enough back to avoid being the primary target but close enough to save her carry. The fight often comes down to which of these two heroes gets the jump first. If Magnus can catch a key target out of Wyvern's range, his team can still blow them up before the save arrives.
