Mars vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Picking Mars into Razor is a real gamble because of a fundamental conflict in their kits. Mars has to get close to deal damage and be effective, but that plays directly into Razor's hands. Static Link drains all of Mars's damage, especially inside an Arena of Blood where Mars has no easy way to escape the tether. This turns Mars's biggest teamfight spell into a liability. Bulwark also offers little protection against the damage drain or the strikes from Eye of the Storm.

The problem begins in the laning stage and carries through the entire game, forcing the Mars player to be extremely careful. His main strategy becomes using Arena of Blood to trap Razor’s teammates while trying to avoid him entirely. A smart Razor will position himself to get caught on purpose, knowing he can turn the fight once linked. Mars can’t solve this matchup on his own; his team needs to provide the burst damage or crowd control to kill Razor before the damage drain neuters their initiator.
